Crashboxx, is a family of customizable dynamic event data recorders (EDR’s), designed especially for the demands of the vehicle telematics and fleet management market. The purpose of Crashboxx is to capture, record, and analyze crashes in real time and to alert fleet managers immediately when a crash occurs.
Crashboxx dynamic event data recorders are the first EDR’s on the market developed specifically for integration with, and to complement, Automatic Vehicle Locating (AVL) or Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS).

Complementing rather than competing with these vehicle telematics systems, and focus on crash related functions only, sets Crashboxx EDR’s apart from other EDR’s on the market.
Makers of vehicle telematics systems can quickly and easily add crash recording and crash alert functionality to their platforms with a Crashboxx EDR. Plug a Crashboxx EDR into an Automatic Vehicle Tracking system (VTS) or other Mobile Asset Management platform, and you can improve the functionality and feature set of vehicle tracking systems.

When the vehicle is involved in a frontal or side collision, Crashboxx sends a signal to the VTS which in turn sends a report to the Fleet Manager . The fleet manager/safety manager knows immediately when and where the crash has occurred.
Detailed crash report for subsequent analysis

The speed of the vehicle at the moment of the crash is calculated and reported.
In addition to alerting the fleet operator when a crash has occurred Crashboxx measures the severity of the impact and conveys this information to the Fleet Manager. Crash severity is classified as low, moderate or severe.
Airbag System Alert
The probability of airbag deployment is calculated and likelihood of deployment is calculated and relayed to the fleet manager
Operator Injury Notification
The crash event is analyzed and an estimate of operator injury is generated. The likelihood of a serious injury is classed and low, moderate or severe. Armed with this information the fleet manage can attempt to render assistance if needed.
